Louisville, KY/October 16, 2003—The Northern Kentucky Convention & Visitors Bureau presented a strong showing at the annual 2003 Kentucky Tourism Industry Traverse Awards, held October 14 at Louisville’s Galt House.

The Bureau won first place honors in the Group Travel/Meeting planner category and in the Annual Report category for its Weathering The Storm 2002 Year End Report.  A second place award was secured in the TV advertisement category and third place recognition was achieved in the print ad (less than 4-color) and in the specialty item category for its miniature beach chair as part of the Relax campaign staged for a national conventions conference.

The Bureau gained honorable mention status in the visitors guide category, print ad (less than 4-color) and specialty items.

Convention and Visitors Bureau President and CEO Tom Caradonio acknowledged the hard work of staff and the CVB’s marketing agency of record MKT in accepting the awards.  “Our creative team continues to provide compelling marketing materials that educate visitors about the wealth of reasons to stay at Northern Kentucky hotels and hold their meetings here.”

The awards were handed out during the Kentucky Tourism Industry Annual Conference, which will be held October 24-26, 2004 at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center.
