Embassy Suites RiverCenter Employee Among 2004 Rose Award Winners

Covington, KY/March 29, 2004-A front desk clerk who is credited with turning around the life of a troubled teen is among the nine recipients of the 2004 Rose Awards.

Anna Wilson was cited for an impassioned conversation she had last year with a teenager who was battling drug addiction and was considering suicide.  As a result of the conversation, the child’s mother said the youngster had turned their life around and was now drug free.

The Rose Awards, which stand for Recogntion Of Service Excellence, are distributed annually to hourly employees who go beyond the line of duty in assisting hotel guests. This is the eleventh year the Tourism Council of Greater Cincinnati handed out the awards (March 25 at the Kings Island Resort and Conference Center).  Wilson was the only Northern Kentucky recipient of nine from the Tri-state among 82 nominees from the three-state, eight county region.

The mission of the Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitors Bureau is that of an aggressive sales, marketing, service and informational organization whose primary responsibility is to positively impact the Northern Kentucky economy through conventions, meetings and visitor expenditures.  The direct economic impact of visitors’ spending in Campbell, Kenton and Boone Counties in 2006 was $263 million.
