CLASSIC CAR SHOW TO FILL MAINSTRASSE OCT. 13-15

Covington, KY/October 5, 2006—The Tigers East Alpines East United XXVI Car Show is slated to run October 13-15 on the streets of Mainstrasse Village.

Highlights of the weekend include:

Friday, October 13th-rally to Augusta, KY from 10 a.m. to  2 pm.;

Saturday, October 14th, 10-2-the main public display which will feature a concours for about 100 cars;

Saturday, October 14th, 6-10 p.m.-a BB Riverboat cruise.

A parts room will also be available for collectors of these classic cars made in the late 1950s into the 1960s in England by the Rootes Group.  The Rootes Company was later purchased by Chrysler but quickly phased out in the 70s.  There are 600 members of the Tigers East/Alpines East Club which covers all Rootes Group cars (Sunbeam Alpines and Tigers, Hillman, Humber, Singer and Commer) nationwide.  Two hundred attendees are expected with some coming from as far as Florida, Maine and Missouri.

The mission of the Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitors Bureau is that of an aggressive sales, marketing, service and informational organization whose primary responsibility is to positively impact the Northern Kentucky economy through conventions, meetings and visitor expenditures.  The direct economic impact of visitors’ spending in Campbell, Kenton and Boone Counties in 2005 was $255 million.
