KOREAN, WW II VETERANS GROUP HOLDS REUNION IN NKY

Fort Mitchell, KY/May 11, 2007—The 29th Annual Reunion of the 61st Field Artillery Battalion Association will be held May 21-24, 2007, at the Drawbridge Inn.

Up to 50 members of the group will be gathering to relive old times and will also take in several of the sights including a dinner cruise of BB Riverboats.  The 61st is comprised of World War II veterans who served in island campaigns including the Philippines and in Japan during the Korean War.

During the Korean conflict, the troops were involved in the defense of Pason Perimter and battled Chinese troops throughout North and South Korea, ultimately driving them back to the north.

The mission of the Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitors Bureau is that of an aggressive sales, marketing, service and informational organization whose primary responsibility is to positively impact the Northern Kentucky economy through conventions, meetings and visitor expenditures.  The direct economic impact of visitors’ spending in Campbell, Kenton and Boone counties in 2006 was $263 million.
