WHY:

Seizing the Future is the meeting’s theme talking about the challenges facing the convention industry.  CVB leaders will unveil the Bureau’s economic impact to the community for 2006 as well as other figures and events that shaped the previous year.  Initiatives for 2007 will also be spelled out including plans to tackle new market segments.  The Bureau will also give a preview of a revamped logo and new marketing campaign.  Featured outside speakers include Sean Rugless, President of the Regional Tourism Network, who will discuss the Network’s progress in filling local hotels with leisure travelers, and George Ward, Kentucky Secretary of Commerce, who will discuss plans by the state to grow the state tourism market, pegged currently at more than $9 billion.

The mission of the Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitors Bureau is that of an aggressive sales, marketing, service and informational organization whose primary responsibility is to positively impact the Northern Kentucky economy through conventions, meetings and visitor expenditures.  The direct economic impact of visitors’ spending in Campbell, Kenton and Boone counties in 2006 was $263 million.
