For the 14th year in a row, the Cincinnati Bop Club is the host club for the American Bop Association Fall Convention. Move Across the River is held at the Drawbridge Estates in Ft. Mitchell, KY and attracts around 1000 Jitterbug dancers from all over the country. There is non-stop dancing from Wednesday night’s kick-off party until the doughnuts are served on Sunday morning. Dance workshops take place on Friday and Saturday mornings and include Arkansas Street Swing, West Coast Swing, St. Louis Imperial Swing and Carolina Shag. The open dance schedule (to the best in old Rhythm & Blues) begins at 7 PM on Thursday night and Noon on both Friday and Saturday! Tickets are $50 for the entire event and $25 for a one-day ticket.
This is also the 16th Anniversary party for the Cincinnati Bop Club. The club is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of Jitterbug, Bop, Swing and Shag styles of dancing and the Rhythm and Blues music that made those dances an American tradition. The Bop Club dances weekly at Jim & Jacks on the River on Tuesday nights from 7 PM - 11 PM and gives lessons on the first three Tuesdays of each month (Jan - Oct.)
