MILITARY INSIGNIA COLLECTORS GATHER IN NKY

Fort Mitchell, KY/September 3, 2009—The American Society of Military Insignia Collectors (ASMIC, www.asmic.org) is preparing to hold its 2009 Tri-Convention at the Drawbridge Inn Friday and Saturday, September 11th and 12th.

Event organizer Jim McDuff expects 500 enthusiasts from states as far away as California and New Hampshire, and nations such as Germany and England, but he says local attendees are equally welcome.

“We intentionally open part of the show to the general public as we are always looking to add to our membership list of 2,000 people in the US and two dozen other countries. Whether you are a collector of military insignia or a student of heraldry or military history, whether an expert or novice, you will find membership in ASMIC educational and enjoyable,’ said McDuff.

Founded in 1937, ASMIC is the oldest and largest organization of military insignia collectors in the world. Public admission is $6. Non-members are welcome Friday, the 11th from noon to 8, Saturday, 9-5. Information: 913-631-3942 or jmcduff@swbell.net.
