KY School Nutrition Association to meet in Northern Kentucky June 28-30
700 nutrition professionals from schools districts throughout KY to hold annual conference at Northern Kentucky Convention Center
Covington, KY/June 22, 2010 – Approximately 700 school nutrition professionals from school districts throughout Kentucky will gather at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center June 28-30 for the 54th Annual State Conference of the Kentucky School Nutrition Association (KSNA). Estimated economic impact of the conference on the Northern Kentucky community is $308,000.
Highlights of the KSNA conference will include:
- Behind the scenes tour of Brothers Bar & Grill at Newport on the Levee with a Q&A with the restaurant's chef and general manager
- Behind-the-scenes tour of Jungle Jim's in Fairfield
- 'Top Chef' competition among teams from various Kentucky school districts
- Trade show featuring new products & services in school food service operations
- School Nutrition Specialist (SNS) credentialing exam
Various seminars on school nutrition also will be conducted, including topics such as:
- how schools can help shape healthy eaters
- specialty dietary needs
- alternative meals
- breakfast in the classroom
- home cooked and take out
- best practices for using service equipment
- new KY Health Dept. inspection regulations
- food service safety awareness training
- going green.
