Real Pirates: At The

Cincinnati Museum Center

The Museum Center is currently housing the Real Pirates: The Untold Story of the Whydah from Salve Ship to Pirate Ship.

This exhibit is a National Geographic exhibition that will be in Cincinnati until January of 2008.

The Whydah is the first fully authentic pirate ship ever found in American waters. Visitors can walk through the 12 exhibits, 15,000 square feet, and go on a journey from the different stages of the ships biography. The exhibit has artifacts that were recovered from the wreck of The Whydah which sank off the coast of Cape Cod in April 1717. Take a voyage back to the days of piracy in the early 18th century Caribbean when this slave ship became a pirate ship commanded by "Black Sam" Bellamy.
